Anyone ever been on a diuretic for blood pressure?

Yesterday my dr. put my on a diuretic for my blood pressure. At first I really didn't understand what my kidneys had to do with my blood pressure but I came home and did a little research and understand that this diuretic is supposed to increase sodium i guess in the kidneys which produce more water which flushed out the blood stream and creates less pressure on my arteries....something like that. So ok I understand....Pharmacist told me it I'd probably go to the bathroom more due to the increase in water production. I don't know if I'm just imagining I have to pee all the time or if I really have to go (you know power of thought) but I've been 4 times this morning (which is a lot for me). My Q is....is this going to get worse?
