How can Barack Obama be the first black President?

I don't understand when people say that Obama is our first black President when George Washington was our first black President like 200 years ago. I think we had multiple other black Presidents including Malcolm X, Denzel Washington and Mohandas Ghandi. Please answer me back because its getting annoying when I hear stupid remarks like Obama being our first black President. IT IS ABSOLULTEY POPOSTEROUS!!!!
