I keep having a strange nightmare/weird dream can someone help?

I need someone to help me decode my dream. I'm sure I'll get the your crazy comments, but oh well its answers what can one expect. So I have been having the same nightmare/dream for the past few nights and I don't sleep well as it is. In my dream I go to go upstairs in my own house and its haunted by silly ghosts(my house isn't haunted so this is weird and I say silly cause they are like ghosts similar to harry potter ghost or casper ghosts). Then its like I'm not at my house anymore but a really bad memory of my ex(who was abusive) starts to play out. Then I run away and tell my family what is going on. Next thing you know I am at the hospital and its all white. White walls, Im in white shorts and a tshirt and I go to leave my room at the hospital and I start running down the halls but can not find my way out I'm panicked at this point in time cause I know I have to get out of there - I wake up for real and am totally freaked but I do not know why. I'm not sure what is chasing me. Once Freddy Kruger was in my dream but I think Freddy is funny and I'm pretty sure its cause I watched the movie that night. Still this dream reoccurs a lot. I figure its got to mean something right. Recently - Dec 12th my grandma who adopted me ped away - so I don't if its got something to do with that. If anyone who knows about dreams could help I would appreciate it.
