Really dumb question about the spooky military?

I'm in incredible shape and have a decent ASVAB score and am planning on enlisting in the Navy. However, I would like to have a hypothetical to any military/recruiters out there. Is there any way I could view secretive/spooky things without becoming an egg head. I'm not talking james bond secretive or anything important to national security, I'm more curious with artifacts or biological research. Maybe some sort of sentry of haha me possibly being the guinea pig?
