What kinds of dates can I dress up on?

I really want to go on a date with my boyfriend that I can dress up for - I was thinking dress and high heels. I hate to feel overdressed, and restaurants/theaters are pretty casual nowadays...so what are some dates/occasions/events/places where I can really dress up, without feeling that I'm dressed inappropriately or too dressed up?
