Why is it called tin foil, when it's obviously aluminum?!?

lol it's actually called aluminum foil.....you or some people may call it tin foil, but I know the box it comes in says "aluminum foil" on it! it wouldn't be surprised if many people mixed the name up for tin...it looks like tin so yeah
